Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well, today’s blog post is based on finding ways to relax after a busy day, it’s very important to look after yourself and do some self-care after a long day. This is so that you don’t burn out and get too stressed because we all know what it’s like when we have busy lives, we often find it hard to dedicate some time to relax. But, it’s been regularly said that becoming too stressed can have an effect on our lives, not just the day-to-day but our health also.
If your mind is on a merry-go-round of work-related thoughts, you’ve clicked on the right blog post, because I wanted to share some ways of how you can relax.
When You Get Through The Door
One thing to remember when you get home after work is not to go straight to the fridge. Food won’t solve your stress, people are divided into stress eaters and those who lose their appetite when they are stressed.
Listen To Music or Podcasts
I really like listening to music and podcasts a lot, on my way to work and on my way home. But, listening to relaxing music, or finding a podcast that will help you relax should help massively.
Watch Your Favourite TV Show or Movie
Watching TV is a really nice thing to do to relax after a long day, there may not be a thrilling programme on, but there’s always a friends episode which you can watch. You could even find a feel-good movie to watch that gets you in a good mood and can help take your mind off things.
Have A Bath
This is something that I don’t do often enough, but it is one of the best things you can do to relax. I haven’t had a bath in a while and now that it is colder, I will definitely be factoring in time to have one bath a week. They are so relaxing and you can watch some TV or music while you’re in there to help you relax even more.

Exercise
There’s nothing quite like an endorphin rush to sort your mind out and ensure you’ve given yourself some me-time. Whether you’re a runner, a pilates-er or a CrossFit-a-holic, 20 minutes is all you need to allow your body to release those important endorphins and maybe treat it as an opportunity to practice responding to stress.
Read A Book
Reading a book is a really good self-care activity, it definitely helps you relax. I really enjoy reading it when I have free time, mainly before bed is the best time for me because I’m tempted to pick up my phone, so a book is a much better option. Why not give yourself some time in the week to read?
How To Avoid Stress?
You can’t really avoid stress in everyday life, it is kind of inevitable. However, you can control how you react to it. One thing a lot of people struggle with is how to relax after feeling stressed. instead, we carry on working into the night or pass out in front of a bright screen. If you’re not in the mood for exercise, try to schedule in some ‘me time. Maybe take some extra time on your skincare routine or give yourself the time to do a facemask.
Me time doesn’t even have to wait until you get home, you could even try it during your lunch break. Just getting out of the office can be super helpful, taking a walk while looking at the sights and listening to the nature sounds without letting anything else cloud your brain, can majorly help.
I hope you’ve found this helpful, let me know how you react in the comments.
These are all great ideas for self care. I definitely watch a lot of TV when I come home from work!

These are all great ways of relaxing. I used to work full-time in a very stressful job and I used to meditate for a while when I got home to calm my thoughts.

Some really nice ideas — I think it’s so important that we find ways to decompress after a busy/stressful day. This post was a good reminder to do that!

I really miss having a bath – we’ve only had a shower whilst we do work on the house. So looking forward to when I can have a proper soak again as I know how great it is for helping me to unwind.
