I know we’ve all had a very stressful and anxious year, and we’ve realised that you aren’t really in control of anything in life and anything could change in a second. Life seems to gain some more normality day by day, but what if we’re not fully ready for that?
How can move through life with less stress and overwhelm?
If you’re feeling overwhelmed at the moment with the increase in places we can go, people we can see and what the summer/winter will look like, join the club. I have felt overwhelmed over the last couple of weeks and it’s not an easy feeling to get rid of, so here are my tips to help you:
EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OKAY
A lot of people hate this saying and even find it cheesy but personally this has helped me a lot during my darkest times. There were so many times I thought I wouldn’t be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it is there you’ve just got to believe it. Sometimes it is going to be a lot harder to deal with and believing that it will be okay is the only option, especially if it out of your control.
WHATEVER YOU ARE GOING THROUGH IS ONLY TEMPORARY
Making permanent decisions or actions based on temporary situations is never a good idea, last year was an exception because of everything going on. When you look back I’m sure you’ll say ‘I’m glad I didn’t do that’ and you may be in a completely different position which. That journey will probably not be the easiest but looking back you will be so grateful for all the life lessons and experiences you’ve gained along the way.

TRUST THE TIMING OF YOUR LIFE
Believing that everything happens for a reason can be helpful, especially if you are feeling overwhelmed. I know some people will disagree with me on that, but good and bad, it is all part of a greater purpose, your journey in life and where you go on that journey. Sometimes you may not understand why but in the greater scheme of things you may see why you had to go through some crap to be better on the other side.
GET PLENTY OF REST
I learnt this lesson a long time ago, rest and rejuvenation are essential for doing your most productive work. We all have different periods of the day where we just seem to work a bit better, I know if I am tired, I can lose motivation and perspective. Also, if you are feeling overwhelmed, take yourself out of the situation, and give yourself five minutes to think through the situation you’re in. Go for a walk, go to the gym, meditate, manifest– whatever works for you to get refocused.
This feeling is difficult to avoid in today’s world, but there are things you can do to reduce those feelings once they do arise. Remember the reminders above whenever you’re not sure how to move forward, and you’ll soon find yourself on the other side.
I am trying to trust the timing of my life and be aware that everything happens, or doesn’t happen, for a reason. I will refer to this next time I’m feeling overwhelmed thank you for sharing!

Wonderful post – thank you for sharing so many helpful tips! I also hold on to the idea that ‘Everything is going to be okay’. It’s one of my favourite quotes (think from John Lennon) – ‘“Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end” x
