Makeup is a thing of magic, we all love it and we all hate it from time to time. But, makeup is something we all say we can live without, but can we? I don’t think I could, a bit of powder, some lipstick and mascara is probably all I’d need… maybe some highlighter too haha
Everyone needs to share their makeup tricks and tips, we’re all in the same boat, we should share which foundation is better coverage, which lipstick stays for hours and which brush to use for powder, blusher and eyeshadow. Put your best face forward with these tried-and-true tips
Do eye makeup before face makeup
It’s the smart mess-free process, you don’t have to worry about powder shadow falling on your cheeks or under-eye liner smearing on your foundation, blush or concealer . I’d always recommend using a primer or cream shadow first as it will keep eye makeup fresh and guarantee a smoother and more even application.
Use neutral shadows to accent eyes
Natural hues and warm tones for dark eyes, cool tones for light eyes, this never fails. There’s no need to do the whole contour deal, unless you want to, but a pale, shimmer eye shadow on lids can add sparkle to tired eyes, a medium shade in the crease can erase any fleshy overhang and make eyes appear larger, whereas the darkest browns and charcoals work as a smoky top coat for your gel eyeliner to soften the whole look.
Never Put Concealer on Your Eyelids
You may be tempted to apply concealer or foundation to your eyelids as a base, but don’t. While using concealer under your eyes is a great way to mask dark circles and under-eye bags, applying it to your eyelids can ruin your eye makeup by causing it to become creased.

Change up your lip liner and lipstick
Match lip liner to your natural lip tone, then sketch the borders of your lip with the lip liner and then fill in the entire mouth with liner as a base to prevent ring-around-the-mouth. Choose a creamy lipstick, instead of gloss. Dare to try a new shade such as peachy pink, rose or red to play up whitened teeth and your dazzling smile.
Do your brows
Make the effort to fill, extend and groom them because brows are key to facial expression. Keep it natural by using a brow pencil in short, feathery strokes following the direction of hair growth. Then, if necessary, fill in sparse areas a brow gel or pomade, I love using the NYX ones because they work really well to fill in your brows naturally.
Use makeup brushes
Silky synthetic brushes make makeup look skin-authentic and using a foundation brush will prevent makeup from settling in crevices and corners. Start at the centre of your face and blend foundation outward, fading off toward the jaw and hairline for a seamless application. Use a smaller concealer brush to tap-blend camouflage under the eyes, at the inner corner next to the nose and on any specific brown spots, broken capillaries or blemishes that bug you. you can then cover with powder to finish the look, but again use a brush rather than a beauty blender.
So hopefully this will help you with your makeup, I love sharing tips with people when it comes to makeup. Why not share your tips with me and the blogging community?
I’ve never really been a massive makeup fan. Good tips! Especially the eyes before the face. I’ve learnt from that!

These are great tips, I love make up but I am no pro and haven’t worn it much over the last year. I always do eyes before base as I make such a mess!

I think even for people that don’t wear makeup, filling in the brows makes such a difference. I love your blog, I have followed, and can’t wait to see future beauty posts ❤️
